A SUPPOSITORY OF ALL HUMAN KNOWLEDGE

Frankly, this blog is a response to the utter bloody numbness with which
we have to repeatedly 'endure' today's current events.

For example, take the latest atrocity, the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Florida.

Failed Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio's response to the BBC reporter, who asked him the simple question: What could have been done to prevent the massacre? was that it could have happened in Europe, as proved by the recent shootings in France.

What he neglected to mention, is that to acquire high-lethality assault weapons in Europe, you are probably already networked into a vast criminal underworld. And even if you are a 'professional' criminal, you still have to go out of your way to get weapons, and the penalties are high if you are caught.

In America, you simply have to go into a shop and say, 'Excuse me my good man, I would like to purchase that laser-guided anti-airliner bazooka that you have mounted on the wall behind you.'

'Oh, you mean this stinger missile sir? Yes, they're rather neat aren't they? That'll be twelve hundred bucks. Is it a gift..?'

In a nutshell: I'm fed up with the idiotic debates in the media surrounding the whole #Brexit thing, as well as other rolling news. The statistics especially, are so obviously manufactured in order to fit the opposing political arguments, they render the whole exercise completely meaningless.

In between, regular people have to put up with the filibustering, obfuscations, and downright bullshit that proliferates from the establishment, and especially the political class.

I am routinely economical with the fabrications that make up the content of this current affairs blog, so at no point should it be taken seriously, unless you'd like to take it seriously.

This is basically a space where a person can apply abstract thoughts and spins to what is an increasingly abstract world.

To reiterate: THIS BLOG IS AN IRONIC, SATIRICAL COMMENT ON NEWS AND CURRENT AFFAIRS DURING THE SIMULTANEOUS UK 'BREXIT' AND U.S. PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN YEAR OF 2016.
